How quickly can you fill a vacancy?

For most permanent roles we deliver a curated shortlist within 5 to 10 working days. Senior or niche roles can take 2 to 4 weeks. We agree a realistic timeline at the briefing stage so you know exactly what to expect.

What is your placement guarantee?

Every permanent placement is covered by a replacement guarantee. If the candidate leaves within the agreed period for reasons covered by the agreement, we work to replace them at no additional fee.

Do you handle volume hiring as well as single roles?

Yes. We work on individual permanent vacancies and on multi-hire campaigns, including new site openings, expansion projects and entire team builds across our twelve sectors.

How does your fee structure work?

We charge a percentage of the agreed first-year salary, payable on the candidate's start date. Fee levels are agreed in writing before any candidate is submitted, with no hidden retainers and no upfront cost.

Do you only place permanent staff?

Yes. Balfour Wilson Recruitment is a permanent recruitment specialist. We do not handle temporary, interim or any non-permanent engagement. Every candidate we shortlist is being placed into a permanent role.

Will I get a flood of CVs to wade through?

No. Our model is curated shortlist, not CV bombing. You typically receive 3 to 5 fully briefed candidates per role, each with a written consultant summary covering fit, motivation and notice period.

Which UK regions do you cover?

We recruit across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with consultants familiar with each regional market. We also support fully remote and hybrid permanent roles for distributed UK teams.

How do I instruct you on a vacancy?
